Live as God's Chosen

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with...patience. (Colossians 3:12 NIV)

Post Comment: Patience has been your focus this week. This is how you are to be. This is to be your way of life. How is your patience? Share insight regarding how to become clothed in the patience that God expects.

Pray: Are you willing to grow in patience? Ask for God's help as you take steps to grow in living as His chosen.

I am still growing and learning about patience. While I have been looking closely at the fruit of the Spirit, I realize that all of the fruit are intertwined. To love includes being kind as well as many of the other fruit. To be kind I need to have an attitude of joy or it won’t work. My patience comes out of my kindness and love because, as I commented earlier this week, to be patient with people, I have to have an attitude of love and kindness. God produces the character traits love, joy, peace, patience within me through His Holy Spirit. I cannot develop these on my own. These are a gift from God. To clothe myself I need to keep close to Him. Stay close in prayer and in His Word. I have to keep the desire in my heart to follow the examples He has given me for living my life. Most important, I need to remember that God is the one with the power, the plan, the love and the patience to walk me through it!
