Peace Comes From Building up Each Other

Peace from the Lord is so different than peace that the world offers. Within God’s peace it is an inside feeling of being released and rescued, protected, hopeful, free, loved…it is beyond understanding and describing. The world’s peace comes from outside things: money, possessions people, situations and job descriptions. These things are not lasting or dependable. I encourage my Christian friends, as they encourage me, to stay in Scripture, pray and stay close to the Lord. Peace comes from God so there is the need to stay close to Him. When problems happen between friends, we hold friends accountable, pray for them and stay beside them. Christians are not perfect. It is hard to let go of hurts, habits and issues. Gossip comes easy sometimes. It is hard to admit wrongs. Letting go and letting God bring His peace through forgiveness and love is what we are to do. For those in the world needing peace we can encourage by example, pray for them, be their friend and share God’s peace with them in a way that builds them up and brings them closer to experiencing real peace.

Judy,
I enjoyed your observations on Peace. I usually call it Serenity. My serenity comes from the same place, Jesus and His love. There was a time that I thought if I only had more money, a better job, good looks, then I could have peace or serenity. I thought then life would be good. But I am learning that none of these tangible things provide me with peace. My peace and serenity only come from Jesus. It took a long time to get to this place, but it was worth the wait and the journey.
