God's Kindness Offers a Way Out of Sin

"Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?" Romans 2:3-4 (NIV)

Post Comment: How do you respond to the truth that God’s kindness “is intended to turn you from your sin”?

God is kind to me. God is, beyond my understanding, continually patient with me. He tolerates a lot from me. As Christians do, I pray for God to point out the things I have done wrong so I can ask His forgiveness. It’s not easy admitting that I am imperfect. Why is it so easy to see imperfections in others but not face the imperfections in myself? More frequently God seems to wait for me to come face to face with the reality of something I have done or not done. The experience is humbling. It sometimes comes with the force of a 2x4. Those are the times I realize my face is turned the wrong direction so I’m not seeing, hearing or feeling in my heart anything He is trying to communicate to me. When I turn to God, He tells me where, how, why and what I need to do to change. In His kindness, patience and love He turns me toward Him, forgives me and heals me. I am so grateful for His patience and love and for providing me a path out of sin
