"So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith."
Galatians 6:9-10 (NLT)
Knowing that you are “to do good” not “try to do good”, what are the challenges of doing good when you are given the opportunity?

Perseverance is a challenge; don’t give up! Paul says to do good to everyone and do it without getting tired. I admit that I can manage doing good for a while but eventually get weary from the lack of appreciation I receive or the sacrifices I experience. I should be encouraged to keep doing good for as Paul says, I will be blessed if I don’t give up. I need to direct my good deeds to everyone but especially to my fellow Christians, “the family of faith” as Paul calls them. I will be blessed if I take every opportunity to do good. I need to remember this when I get worn out doing good! I need to persevere through every opportunity I am given. Don’t give up! Don’t give up! Keep going! Keep going! Hold on to what is good!
There is at the "P" word again. It seems every time I turn to the Word I run smack dab into the word PERSEVERANCE. My journal for 2009 is full of references to persevering. I am convinced that God is trying to tell me something and I am trying hard to listen closely. Perhaps it has a lot to do with the uncertainty of the day; maybe it has more to do with a specific job He has given me. What ever it is, He has my attention! Thanks for being open to being a vehicle He uses to touch us.
