Give Everything to God

“When they hurled their insults at Him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.” 1 Peter 2:23 (NIV)

He controlled His tongue when He could have hurled insults. He could have responded against the lies and shown His power on the cross. He “entrusted himself” into God’s hands rather than control the situation on His own.

Post Comment: Losing control when you feel bullied, insulted, threatened or when you are suffering happens. How can you give everything to God without trying to control the situation on your own?

Wow, Like many people, I don't like losing control of situations. But as I get older I have learned that things turn out more positive if I get me and my feelings out of the situation. I don't react immediately anymore. I can get a much better view of what is happening when I step away. Instead of rehearsing the situation over and over in my mind and getting more steamed I talk it over with God. He usually helps me see a way to handle the situation...sooner or later. Sometimes I need to let someone know that they were hurtful, not acting out of love. Sometimes I need to ask someone to forgive me. Sometimes I see someone who needs a friend to help them through their personal suffering. Sometimes I see that someone is just being who they are and I need me to pray for them that God can bring love to their hearts. There are also times when there seems to be no answer. I have done all I can do so then I turn it over to God and move on.
