Thoughts on the Way to the Cross

Jesus, Our Reconciler

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

Scripture Comments: God, through Jesus, has made believers right with Him. In Christ we are made new. Our old selfish, sinful selves have gone. Reconciliation with the world came from God working through Christ’s self-sacrificial work on the cross. We can enjoy fellowship with God because Christ reconciled us to Him. This is a wonderful message; a message we need to hold close and share with others.

Does this affect the way you look back on your past life and/or your life now? Enjoy fellowship with God. Pray daily, thanking Him for His gift of His Son. Praise Him for His great love. Ask God to help you come to peace with the sins that are heavy on your heart from the past; that not only He forgives you but His forgiveness sets you free to forgive yourself. Ask Him to renew your heart each day with the desire to remain close to Him and to share His message, through your story, with others.

Please journal your comments on this scripture.
